Amzi! Adds Large Integer Library

November 10, 1997 - Lebanon, OH--Amzi! announces the release of the the Large Integer Library for Amzi! Prolog + Logic Server. It allows you to perform integer arithmetic using unbounded lists of gigadigits instead of 32 binary digits There are also various number-theoretic tools to support residue arithmetic within 32 bits, and there is a highly efficient prime number generator for naive factorisation. Large integers may be transformed to mutable C++ large class instances for more efficient arithmetic. Reduction methods are illustrated for the lazy evaluation of infinite series or continued fractions, and there are also matrix operations over integer and complex number fields.

The library is intended for research projects, with large numbers, and will be extended from time to time towards modern factorisation techniques.

The Large Integer Library is third-party shareware written by Ray Reeves. It can be downloaded from Amzi!’s web site, http://www.amzi.com, for a free 30-day evaluation. Licenses can be purchased for US$25.
