August 25, 2000 - Lebanon, OH—-Amzi! announces the immediate availability of the 5.0 version of the Amzi!® Logic Explorer™. The Logic Explorer is the pure Prolog subset of the Amzi! Prolog + Logic Server™ product. It is designed for anyone interested in a compact environment for learning and experimenting with the Prolog language.

The Amzi! Logic Explorer provides complete command-line tools and a Windows IDE (integrated development environment) with an editor for writing the facts and rules, an interpreter for querying and managing the logic-base and a debugger to monitor the execution of the queries. New in this release is the addition of the compiler and linker, permitting the development of large, stand-alone Prolog applications. The Explorer also includes a complete tutorial (in HTML) and many samples of intelligent components with full source code. The samples include a shipping advisor, tournament scheduler, intelligent database, identification expert, mailing list parser, income tax form preparer and adventure game.

The Amzi! Logic Explorer runs under Windows 95/98 and NT. It is free and can be downloaded from Amzi!'s website at www.amzi.com. Universities and other organizations may distribute the Amzi! Logic Explorer to their students and employees at no charge.
