August 18, 1995 - Stow, MA-Amzi! brings its Logic Server to Delphi and Windows '95 with its new 3.3 release, available now.
Delphi's object-oriented approach is ideally suited for encapsulating logic- bases in applications. Accessing a logic-base is very similar to accessing a database. The Logic Server component provides methods for recording facts, issuing queries, and updating the logic-base. It also blends readily into the Delphi environment by using its existing exception handling and help facilities.
The Delphi component can also be used to extend the Logic Server so it can directly access other components and libraries. This makes it possible for logic-bases to access the host applications' data, functions or other APIs.
Amzi! 3.3 also features a 32-bit Windows DLL and library which allows the Logic Server to run in 32-bit mode under Windows 95 as well as NT and 3.x. This allows the construction of larger, more sophisticated logic-bases in the Windows environments. Logic-bases can be embedded in Delphi, Visual Basic, C/C++, Access, PowerBuilder and many other tools.
Amzi! Prolog+Logic Server 3.3 (formerly Cogent Prolog) is available in Professional and Personal Editions and runs under all forms of MS-Windows, NT, plus DOS and Extended-DOS. The system includes a full Prolog development system with a Windows IDE (Interactive Developer's Environment) and royalty-free, static and dynamic Logic Server libraries.
