[1] Amzi! 5.0 Final Now Ready for Download
------------------------------------------

The 5.0 release of Amzi!® Prolog + Logic ServerT brings together all
supported platforms under a unified set of source code. It runs under all
32-bit versions of Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris 7 or later. HP/UX
support is also available by special arrangement.

The Logic Server supports the latest versions of C++, Java, Delphi,
Visual Basic and CGI web servers. In addition to full source code for the
Logic Server interfaces, full source code is included for the Windows
Integrated Development Environment.

The 5.0 release also includes the HTML version of the book, Building
Expert Systems in Prolog (see below).

The Personal Edition is free for research and non-commercial use and is
available for downloading from Amzi!'s website at www.amzi.com. The
Professional Edition is licensed at US$2500 per development seat.
Additional platforms for the same developer seat are US$1250. Full
source code is available under a commercial license. There is no upgrade
charge for existing Amzi! 4.1 Professional customers.

[2] WebLS 3.2 Adds Support for Linux and Solaris
------------------------------------------------

The 3.2 release of WebLS is now available under Linux and Solaris 7.

WebLS is a web-based system for writing advisors and problem solvers. It
can be used to provide information customized for each user, diagnose
problems, recommend products and services (such as restaurants, books,
movies, modems, printers), determine the applicability of programs (such
as health insurance, unemployment benefits) and more. For example,
WebLS was used to build the Breast Cancer Decision Guide at
www.bcdg.org.

WebLS is freeware and can be downloaded from Amzi!'s website,
www.amzi.com. Commercial source code licenses are available.

[3] Building Expert Systems in Prolog Now Available
---------------------------------------------------

The HTML version of the book, Building Expert Systems in Prolog (Springer-
Verlag, ISBN 97016-9) is now available for reading and downloading from
www.amzi.com. It is also included in the 5.0 version of Amzi! Prolog +
Logic Server. This advanced tutorial uses a step-by-step approach to
building systems, explaining the concepts and showing the Prolog code at
each stage. The tutorial builds on simple beginning systems and progresses
up to relatively sophisticated expert system tools. Full source code is
included and may be used as the basis for your own applications.

[4] New Amzi! Logic Explorer Adds Compiler/Linker
-------------------------------------------------

The 5.0 version of the Amzi!® Logic ExplorerT is available for downloading.
The Logic Explorer is the pure Prolog subset of the Amzi! Prolog + Logic
ServerT product. It is designed for anyone interested in a compact
environment for learning and experimenting with the Prolog language.

The Amzi! Logic Explorer provides complete command-line tools and a
Windows IDE (integrated development environment) with an editor for
writing the facts and rules, an interpreter for querying and managing the
logic-base and a debugger to monitor the execution of the queries. New
in this release is the addition of the compiler and linker, permitting the
development of large, stand-alone Prolog applications. The Explorer also
includes a complete tutorial (in HTML) and many samples of intelligent
components with full source code. The samples include a shipping
advisor, tournament scheduler, intelligent database, identification expert,
mailing list parser, income tax form preparer and adventure game.

The Amzi! Logic Explorer runs under Windows 95/98 and NT. It is free
and can be downloaded from Amzi!'s website at www.amzi.com.
Universities and other organizations may distribute the Amzi! Logic
Explorer to their students and employees at no charge.

[5] New Tech Support Forums
---------------------------

We have added a new web-based forums system to our site to further enhance
tech support for all Amzi! products. This will give you another way to get
the answers you need in a timely fashion. The forums are monitored by our
tech support people, and common questions and answers received via e-mail
are posted there.

You can view and participate in the forums at www.amzi.com/phorum/index.php.
Please feel free to add your questions and share your expertise!
