Prolog + Logic Server 5.0.23 Production Release [3] KnowledgeWright 4.1.17 Beta Test Release [1] Amzi! Prolog + Logic Server 6.1.30 Beta Test Release -------------------------------------------------------------- A new Amzi! Prolog + Logic Server 6.1.30 beta release for Windows is now available for download. Compared to release 5.0, the first 6.1 release turned out to be many times faster for some applications and many times slower for others. The new release keeps the faster ones fast, and makes the slower ones not nearly as slow. Most applications will run about the same speed on both releases. The debugger is now working in 6.1.30 Numbers in Amzi! are now unified as a single \'real\' type. This means there are no machine restrictions on the number of digits on either side of the decimal point. Internally, the most efficient representation is always used, but to the programmer, numbers appear to be mathematical rather than computational. See release notes for details. (Scientific notation is still available for those wishing to use floating point calculations.) There is a new sample, pi.pro, that computes pi to an arbirary numbers of decimal points. This demonstrates some of the features of the new real numbers. There is a new sample, macro_test.pro, that shows the various things you can do with the new macro facility in Amzi!. There are other notes and minor upgrades as noted in the release notes with the distribution, in the documentation. Still missing from this release are: updated documentation, memory recovery of string and other such objects, and indexing for the dynamic database. NOTE - The internal format of .plm and .xpl files has changed slightly, requiring recompilation and relinking of all programs with the new release. Please download the software and work with it and let us know what you think and certainly report any bugs. Please use the support forum on www.amzi.com whenever possible for bugs and other issues. [2] Amzi! Prolog + Logic Server 5.0.24 Production Release -------------------------------------------------------------- A maintenance release of 5.0 is available as well. It fixes a memory leak problem in applications that affects applications that open and close multiple Logic Servers in a single process. And it fixes multithreaded Java programs with extended predicates [3] KnowledgeWright 4.1.16 Beta Test Release -------------------------------------------------------------- KnowledgeWright is moving along with numerous bug fixes and enhancements. Notably a Linux version is now available, and it is possible to compile knowledgebases. There are full source code runtime examples for Java, Delphi and Visual Basic. A variety of bugs related to moving and renaming objects and folders have been repaired as well as a problem reading text objects from files.
